Palmdale Water District presents “Cash for Grass” customers checks and appreciation certifications

admin May 26, 2011

PALMDALE, CA May 26, 2011 – Last night three local Palmdale Water District customers were presented with rebate checks and certificates of appreciation from Palmdale Water District for converting their yards into water wise landscapes through the District’s “Cash for Grass” program. PWD has been sponsoring the “Cash for Grass” program for customers within the Palmdale Water District service area for the last two years.

At the Board meeting, PWD Vice President Steve Cordova congratulated customers Larry and Mattie Thompson, Elsie and Lorenso Gaubo, and John and Stacy Nemeth for completing the “Cash for Grass” program. “Conserving water is top priority for those of us at the Palmdale Water District. We are proud that so many of our customers are joining us in this vital activity. To date, one hundred and twelve customers have signed up for the “Cash for Grass” program.” Cordova stated.

The City of Palmdale has also signed up and will receive approximately $22,500.00 from the Palmdale Water District after completing its synthetic turf replacement. The City of Palmdale is using state grant money to help pay for replacing turf areas with synthetic turf. PWD is pleased to also help the City of Palmdale with this conservation project and looks forward to working with the City on other water conservation efforts.

Palmdale Water District has been a leader in conservation programs for over 20 years.
